On today's episode, Seth speaks to Tim Schmidt, founder of Ice Cold Marketing , about learning the basics of affiliate marketing to success. In 2001, Tim grew tired of the cold Minnesota winters and instead of moving to Chicago to work as an IT Consultant with Accenture, he decided to knock on the doors of several budding SEO companies in South Florida. He found immediate success in sales and business development roles and began mastering the fundamentals of how to build an online business with SEO as a backbone and catalyst for growth. After having years of success in SEO client consulting, he decided it was time to build his own online businesses in the form of e-commerce products. The volume of success stories his clients shared with him led him to believe there was more to gain as the person on the other end of the relationship. After several very successful years in the health supplement and wellness industry, coupled with a solid exit strategy, Tim decided it was time for a new challenge. He moved to Costa Rica, his second home, and became the mastermind in helping real estate developers sell property to foreigners using his Internet Marketing game plan to successfully generate leads for a $300 million luxury community. After successfully executing the project, (and let’s face it – several years perfecting Spanish, golf, and traveling through Central America), he returned to South Florida and started a disruptive company in the anti aging space. As the company dialed in it’s procedures and sales processes and became operable by employees that were personally trained to do so, he also began consulting various companies in the highly lucrative electronic cigarette / vapor industry. A master at team building and creating a streamlined work flow, Tim continues to oversee high level strategy for his various e-commerce brands in the consumer packaged goods space while growing his SEO agency and helping businesses of all levels gain more visibility online. Tim has been featured in Inc. Magazine, among many other media outlets. He’s also a member of the Young Entrepreneur Council and a regular speaker at Internet Marketing events. In his spare time he enjoys contributing to his column at the Huffington Post, SocialMediaToday.com, and other news outlets. While it’s rare he gets the opportunity to fully disconnect from the digital world, Tim enjoys spending time with his fourteen-year-old (a budding YouTube star himself!), playing, coaching, and watching sports, travel, golf, and he is quickly becoming a connoisseur of fine tequila and cigars.
